Iowa State University Scholarships

Current and future Iowa State University students are often concerned about how to fund the high cost of their education. If you are an Iowa State student, there are indeed a number of ways that you can apply for scholarships to help you fund your studies. One of the best ways to find free money for college is to complete the FAFSA application. This form can be filled out relatively quickly and will inform you whether you have qualified for any federal or state funding. In addition to using the FAFSA form, Iowa State offers many scholarships that are available only to students who attend their university. As such, these awards may be less competitive than outside awards. Some of the Iowa State scholarships are aimed at recruiting incoming students or transfer students, while others are available to returning students. Check out the list below for some of the awards available at Iowa State:

Muchemore, G. Robert Scholarship: This scholarship is open to students who have graduated from a high school that is located within the state of Nebraska. Only students who have at least a 3.0 grade point average and who intend to enroll on a full-time basis at Iowa State will be considered for this award. The scholarship provides one lucky winner with a scholarship of $15,000 to defray the cost of their college education. Students are chosen for this scholarship based on a combination of financial need and academic merit. A FAFSA application is required in order to be considered for this scholarship and it should be completed prior to December 1st. Additional information about this scholarship can be found at this website.

Boyack, Helen Memorial Scholarship: Students who are citizens of the United States and who have graduated from East Union High School will be considered for this scholarship. It is only available to first-time freshmen who are entering Iowa State. The scholarship provides one winner with an award worth $2,000 to help decrease the cost of tuition. Students should have at least a 3.0 GPA and have financial need. Each applicant must complete the FAFSA application before December 1st in order to be considered. Additional information about this scholarship can be found here.

College of Human Sciences Departmental Scholarships: Each college administers some of its own scholarships. Students can find the undergraduate and graduate application forms for the Human Science Scholarship located at this link. Students who are planning to major in areas outside of Human Sciences, can look at this website to find the link to scholarships that are offered through their academic department. The amount of the departmental scholarships, as well as the application requirements and deadlines, vary.

If you are still looking or additional scholarships through FAU, you might want to consider exploring their Financial Aid Page, which can be found here.
