Mizzou Scholarships

Students who attend the University of Missouri are often looking for ways to defray the cost of their college education. Luckily, there are a number of resources available to help them achieve this endeavor. One of the best ways to find college scholarships is to complete the FAFSA application as early as possible. This application will quickly tell students whether they have or have not qualified for any federal or state funding programs. In addition to completing the FAFSA, the University of Missouri offers a number of wonderful scholarships to students who attend the university. One such scholarship is known as the Mizzou Scholars Award. The eligibility criteria and application process for this scholarship are described below.

Students who are interested in applying for the Mizzou Scholars Award likely have many questions about the scholarship. One of the most important things to realize about this scholarship is that it is awarded based on academic merit. As such, only students who have achieved high grades and exam scores will be serious candidates. In fact, students are required to have achieved at least a 33 on the ACT exam in order to be considered for this scholarship. In addition to this, students must have a high school diploma from an accredited program. Additionally, only students who are residents of the state of Missouri will be considered. Furthermore, the student must be a resident or citizen of the United States. Applicants should have a strong academic record (including a high grade point average) and plan to enroll at MU the semester after they finish high school.

In order to apply for this scholarship, students should submit an online application for admission to MU by December 1st of their last year in high school. Students must have a copy of their ACT or SAT scores sent directly to the university, along with their high school transcript. These items should be sent directly to the university from the school or testing agency. Additionally, all applicants must complete a scholarship essay and a resume that will be submitted prior to Jan. 15th. Students who are selected for this award will be notified after the committee makes its final decision.

Every year, there are nearly 35 students who are selected to receive one of the Mizzou scholarships. These scholarships provide students with an award of $10,000 to attend the University of Missouri. In addition, students can renew these awards for up to three additional years provided that they meet eligibility criteria for renewal.

In order to renew the award, students must complete at least 12 credit hours per semester (at least 24 credit per academic year). Only students who achieve at least a 3.25 grade point average will have their awards renewed. Lastly, there must be no gap in the student’s attendance at MU.
