Students who are planning to attend the University of Florida typically search for scholarships in order to defray the cost of their college education. Luckily, there are a number of scholarships to help UF students with this endeavor. One of the best ways to identify scholarships that you may be eligible for is to complete the FAFSA application as early as possible. This form will tell you whether you have qualified for any state or federal aid programs. After completing the FAFSA, a second great step to take is to look at the scholarships that are offered thorough University of Florida. Below is a brief list of some of the scholarships that UF students could receive:
The Daniel Sinclair Bredahl Scholarships: These scholarships are open to students who are residents or citizens of the United States and who are at least 18 years old. Students should also submit their college transcript, a couple recommendation letters, an essay, and a Study Abroad Scholarship Application. There are three deadlines throughout the year, depending on whether the student is applying to study abroad for summer, fall of spring. If you are hoping to be considered for this, make sure to spend time thinking about your essay response on the application form and honing your resume, as the selection committee will consider these two pieces of information. These scholarships are awarded for four years in different amounts. The highest scholarship is the Platinum Scholarship, which provides students with $10,000 per year.
