Wells Fargo Scholarships

Wells Fargo is primarily known as a leader in the banking industry. Like many other large companies, Wells Fargo has created initiatives to give back to the community One of these initiatives comes in the form of educational scholarships for students. In addition to offering their own scholarships, Wells Fargo created a forum where students can find information regarding the scholarship search, how to find merit-based aid, and to provide information about federal assistance. The webpage with this information can be found here. For Wells Fargo specific scholarships, check out the list of opportunities below to see whether you qualify for any of these scholarships:

Wells Fargo College STEPS: This scholarships sweepstakes opportunity is open to current college students as well as students who are planning to go to college. Any high school or college student who signs up to receive information from Wells Fargo is automatically entered into the sweepstakes. Students who sign up will receive information about money management and college planning advice. Students who are entered are eligible to win the $5,000 scholarship. The current scholarship cycle is open from 7/1/2016 to 6/30/2017. Students who are interested in obtaining additional information about how to enter the scholarship or what it entails can watch a video that is located on this website. Additionally, students can read the Official Rules of the sweepstakes at the same website, before deciding whether they want to enter the sweepstakes.

The Wells Fargo Veterans Emergency Grant Program: At the beginning of this year, Wells Fargo announced that it would support additional grants for military personnel and their families to return to college. This emergency program provides students with a scholarship worth $1,000 to qualified students. This award is not renewable, so students can only receive it one time. The scholarship can be used to defray the cost of rent, medical expenses, tuition, daycare, utilities, or other living or educational expenses. In order to be eligible, the applicant must be enrolled in a college or university and must have experienced an emergency financial situation that may result in them having to leave school. Additionally, the applicant must be a veteran. Additional information about this scholarship can be found here.

The Wells Fargo Veterans Scholarship Program: This scholarship program is also open exclusively to veterans. Unlike the emergency grant, this scholarship provides renewable awards for up to $10,000 in scholarship funding per year. Additionally, these awards are renewable. In order to be eligible, students must either be the spouse of a disabled veteran or must have been honorably discharged. Only veterans who have their GED or high school diploma will be considered. The exact amount of the award varies and is determined by work experience, financial need, community service, academic performance, and leadership skills. In an effort to promote the veteran to graduate, the scholarship will be increased by $1,000 each year provided that the recipient remains enrolled in the program. Students must apply by the end of February in order to be considered. Additional information can be found here.
